Artist , Ida Nieuwenhuizen, grew up in the Netherlands surrounded by art.

She admired the works of Van Gogh, Vermeer, Appel, Escher, Rembrandt and many others.
Having dedicated her life to medicine there was no time for art of her own.

In semiretirement she took a drawing class from a retired art teacher, Dennis Jory.
He showed her to see the world through different eyes.
From then on she explored the artistic side of her brain.
After trying different media such as charcoal, color pencils and pastels, pastel is her favorite media.

Her style is realism and impressionistic.
Amongst her work you will find wild life, landscapes and portraits and sometimes a little fantasy.

Her paintings have been displayed in several art galleries in juried and unjuried exhibits

All works are available for sale, and Giclee prints, 11x14 or 12x16, are available for $75.
